You may be from Louisiana if:

-Your sunglasses fog up when you step outside.

-You save newspapers, not for recycling but for
tablecloths at crawfish boils.

-Your ancestors are buried above the ground.

-You get on a green trolley car to go to the park and
a red one to the French Quarter.

-You take a bite of five-alarm chili and reach for the
Tabasco .

-Every once in a while, you have waterfront property.

-You sit down to eat boiled crawfish and your host
says, "Don't eat the dead ones," and you know what he
means.

-You don't learn until high school that Mardi Gras is
not a national holiday.

-You push little old ladies out of the way to catch
Mardi Gras beads.

Mardi Gras beads.

-Your last name isn't pronounced the way it's spelled.

-No matter where else you go in the world, you are
always disappointed in the food.

-You know that Tchoupitoulas is a street and not a
disease.

-Your grandparents are called "Maw-Maw" and "Paw-Paw."

-Your Santa Claus rides an alligator and your favorite
Saint is a football player.

-You cringe every time you hear an actor with a
Southern or Cajun accent in a "New Orleans-based"
movie or TV show.

-You have to reset your clocks after every
thunderstorm.

-You're walking in the French Quarter with a plastic
cup of beer. When it starts to rain, you cover your beer instead of your head.

-You actually get these jokes and pass them on.

Christmas full of Laughther and Peace

Honey I'm home.....

Let me tell you..I do believe my computer had tears coming out of it...I think I heard it calling out my name...that's how long it's been...LOL LOL...

First off...I sure do hope all of my stream friends had a wonderful Christmas....there are a few that I have visited and saw their ups and downs about this past holiday...but all in all I think most had a good one...

So..what do I say...that is so funny...me...not knowing what to say...not...it is just where do I start...Yeah.I know...I survived the past 2 weeks at the old Wal Mart...it was nuts...but I did it..and now I am on my 2 month leave from that place..I don't think I really want to go back there...I may just go back to my subbing in the schools...it will be at my choosing when I go and not go...but yet still bringing in that little extra income...but keeping my sanity and my family in tact....

It has been really good with the family these passing weeks...there has been no arguing..well just a few here and there but I really wouldn't call them arguments...mostly the kids...Hubby and I have been getting along so well...I do think he is on his best behavior since the little happening with the eldest and his truck...Maybe they should lie to me more often..I get them to make up for it..NO...I don't think so...I hate lies...but I sure do like all the peace...

We cut it so close this year with getting things ready for Christmas...We got the tree up like 5 days before Christmas and the boys decorated it 2 days before...LOL...and then we actually wrapped the gifts Christmas Eve...In some way..it made it more special doing it that way...we didn't tire of the tree because it was up so early...now we still are enjoying it...

My last day working was Christmas Eve...I got off from work at 6pm..well put it this way..they were making everyone stay later to clean up but not I...I was scheduled till 6 and I left...that place has done enough to me and my family...no more...

Any way...I came home..did a few touch up here and there and gathered up the family and headed off to my mom's house...The eldest was not with us this time..first time ever...he went to his girlfriends house which was 2 hours away...I went along with it..he did come home that nite  to be with us for Christmas...and to continue...we  arrived at mom's house and there we ate some snack food..my sister from Miss. was in for this Christmas...we all chatted and caught up on things...then we all headed to the living room where we had a blast...My stepfather who used to be like a monster...mean as can be...has so changed over these passing years..He made us laugh so much that nite...he always comes up with some kind of way to have fun with opening the gifts...

Instead of the normal way of getting the gifts and passing them out..well no..he gets this little sponge ball and tosses it to see which gift it will land on..and then we shall see who it belongs to and yeah...we get to open it....lol...It really is fun...he usually wears a Santa hat..but this year..mom got him an elf hat...so Santa was out of town and his helper elf was doing his bidding...lol...

It was really fun....it has been a few years since we really laugh like we did at Christmas...of course there were tears for the ones who were not with us...but..we felt alive this year...there was so much peace...at least that is what I felt...

Christmas morning we were up so early...my eldest was cooking the turkey so he had to go to my mom's to get ready..so we got up early like 6 am...it didn't take much to wake the youngest..all I had to say was OMG Santa came...and up and running he did...lol..The older ones allowed him to open his gifts first..he was so excited...and the 2 older boys were excited about their gifts also...even though they already knew what they were prob getting...lol..One of the gifts that we gave the youngest was a Cars TV...like the movie but it is a TV..yeah..so cute..it has tires and it is red...it also has a DVD player built in..and get this when the DVD is on pause...the screen saver that pops up is the eyes of the car moving around on the screen..it is so cuteeee..we all love that gift...

Well it was time to get moving...eldest son left to Grandma's to cook turkey..and I started the dressing at home...other boys played a while..then...dressed and ready...off to mom's to eat again...I am so proud of my eldest son...even though lately he has done some really stupid things...he still is a good kid...well young man..He cooked that Turkey so well...it looked like the ones you see on TV...didn't fall apart at all..just so pretty..lol..he also learned a dish from the restaurant he works at and wanted to try it out so he did...it was just apples and sugar and other things..not too sure what he put in it..he cooked it and OMG..it was so yummy...Yeap...I was a proud Mom that day...

This Christmas went so well...it had so much love and peace...yeah gifts too but my heart was so at peace...

I have so much more to say...you should all know that...I never know when to stop..I tell my whole story and every detail...Sorry friends..I think that is being a Cajun...LOL...but..I will stop for now and yes indeed I will be back to finish up on all things...I also have some jokes and things to put...

I sure do hope again that you all had a great Christmas and You know I wish you all the Happiest of New Year....

Love ya

 Time well spent

Yes...indeed Christmas is right around the corner...and no no no..I am not completely finish..lol...All the big things are bought...small things need to be gotten...and do I need to sit my butt down and wrap and wrap until my fingers are numb...lol...

Hubby and I went shopping last Friday...and it was so much fun..we started early morn and didn't stop till late at nite...and guess what...we didn't argue at all not one time...wow...we had a great time together...just the two of us...of course we took a break to get the boys from school set them up with supper and headed off again...We really enjoyed ourselves....we have been spending a lot of time together lately...may it be just bringing the boys to school together or just going to the store...I told him that was kind of scary all the time we been spending together lol lol....

He and my 14 year old and yes the 5 year old helped too..put up the tree and the lights on it...I need to finish up the decorations on it...Usually I have it all done..but in some way it is kind of special waiting till it gets closer to Christmas..that way we don't get so tired of it...it makes it seem so exciting knowing each day something new is being added to make it more like Christmas...

But I tell you it has been so busy..espcially at work...wow people are shopping till it hurts...lol...and of course that old wal mart never did hire anyone extra for the holidays..they are working the few of us to death...but that is ok...only a few more short days and I shall be off from that place on leave...

The other day when I was shopping one of the girls that I work with just out of the blue told me that I looked so pretty...it blew my mind..I think what it is.. that I am feeling more happy knowing that I finally made a decision and grew a backbone....lol...I know that I won't have to deal with all that anger in that place any longer and I can finally get my family and home back in order...

On another note...I am like most of you...having some kind of sickness..I have a sinus infection...man do I cough and cough...and stuffy and today omg...I must have sneezed like 50 times so for lol lol...I do believe it is the stress of everything..that is what makes us so vulernable to getting sick..but I will tell you this..I am so glad it is me doing all the coughing and not my youngest son...who when he starts it is so pityful...

Talking about my youngest...We also went to his Christmas program at the Kindergarden on Tuesday..it was just wonderful...He along with all the other kids did such a wonderful job with their singing of songs and acting out things...it is amazing how such little ones of such young ages could remember from 2 to 5 songs to sing....and he made a christmas hat...I was so prod of him...The teacher told me he did it all by himself the decorating of it...she only glued on the Star...He has to get it from his mom...LOL LOL

Well my friends I just had to stop and check in on you all and let you know where I am at this point...I love you all and I hope you all have a Wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year...God Bless you all...

 Santa Santa

If you see a fat man

Who's jolly and cute,

Wearing a beard

And a red flannel suit,

And if he is chuckling

And laughing away,

While flying around

In a miniature sleigh

With eight tiny reindeer

To pull him along

Then let's face it...

Your eggnog's too strong!
