 RED FRIDAY's from now on............

Will you give this to my Daddy?

As a Company, Southwest Airlines is going to support "Red Fridays."

Last week I was in Atlanta, Georgia attending a conference.

While I  was in the airport, returning home, I heard several people behind me

beginning to clap and cheer. I immediately turned around and witnessed

one of the greatest act's of patriotism I have ever seen.

Moving thru the terminal was a group of soldiers in their camo's, as

they began heading to their gate everyone (well almost everyone) was

abruptly to their feet with their hands waving and cheering.

When I saw  the soldiers, probably 30-40 of them, being applauded and

cheered for it hit me. I'm not alone. I'm not the only red blooded American who

still loves this country and supports our troops and their families.

Of course I i immediately stopped and began clapping for these young

unsung heroes who are putting their lives on the line everyday for us

so we can go to school, work and ho me without fear or reprisal.

Just when I thought I could not be more proud of my country or of our

service men and women a young girl, not more than 6 or 7 years

old, ran up to one of the male soldiers. He kneeled down and said "hi," the

little girl then she asked him if he would give something to her daddy

for her. The young soldier, he didn't look any older than maybe 22

himself, said he would try and what did she want to give to her daddy.

Then suddenly the little girl grabbed the neck of this soldier, gave

him the biggest hug she could muster and then kissed him on the cheek.

The mother of the little girl, who said her daughters name was

Courtney, told the young soldier that her husband was a Marine

and had been in Iraq for 11 months now. As the mom was explaining how

much her daughter, Courtney, missed her father, the young soldier began

to tear up. When this temporarily single mom was done explaining her

situation, all of the soldiers huddled together for a brief second. Then one of

the other servicemen pulled out a military looking walkie-talkie.

They started playing with the device and talking back and forth on it.

After about 10-15 seconds of this, the young soldier walked back over to Courtney,

bent down and said this to her, "I spoke to your daddy and he

told me to give this to you." He then hugged this little girl

that he had just met and gave her a kiss on the cheek. He finished by saying

"your daddy told me to tell you that he loves you more than anything

and he is coming home very soon."

The mom at this point was crying almost uncontrollably and as the

young soldier stood to his feet he saluted Courtney and her mom.

I was standing no more than 6 feet away from this entire event unfolded.

As the soldiers began to leave, heading towards their gate, people

resumed their applause. As I stood there applauding and looked around, their

were very few dry eyes, including my own. That young soldier in one

last act of selflessness, turned around and blew a kiss to Courtney with a tear

       rolling down his cheek.

We need to remember everyday all of our soldiers and their

families and thank God for them and their sacrifices. At the end of the day,

it's good to be an American.

RED FRIDAYS ----- Very soon, you will see a great many people

wearing Red every Friday. The reason? Americans who support our troops

used to be called the "silent majority". We are no longer silent, and ar e

voicing our love for God, country and home in record breaking

numbers. We are not organized, boisterous or over-bearing. Many

Americans, like you, me and all our friends, simply want to recognize that the vast majority of

America supports our troops. Our idea of showing solidarity and

support  for our troops with dignity and respect starts this Friday -and

continues each and every Friday until the troops all come home,

sending a deafening message that.. Every red-blooded American who

supports our men and women afar will wear something red. By word of mouth,

press, TV -- let's make the United States on every Friday a sea of red much like

homecoming football game in the bleachers.

If every one of us who loves this country will share this with

acquaintances, co-workers, friends, and family. It will not be long

before the USA is covered in RED and it will let our troops know the

once "silent" majority is on their side more than ever,

The first thing a soldier says when asked "What can we do to make

things better for you?" is...We need your support and your prayers.

Let's get the word out and lead with class and dignity,

example;  and wear something red every Friday until they come home!

IF YOU AGREE -- THEN SEND THIS  ON IF  YOU COULD CARE LESS  THEN HIT      THE DELETE BUTTON --- IT IS YOUR CHOICE. WE LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE FREE

THEIR BLOOD RUNS RED---- SO WEAR RED! --- MAY GOD HELP AMERICA

TO BECOME ONE NATION, UNDER GOD.

 Breakfast at McDonald's

I thought this was great...had to share...I had tears in my eyes..

SammyJo

Breakfast at McDonald's

This is a good story and is true, please read it all the

way through until the end! (After the story, there are some

very interesting facts!):

I am a mother of three (ages 14, 12, 3) and have recently

completed my college degree.

The last class I had to take was Sociology.

The teacher was absolutely inspiring with the qualities

that I wish every human being had been graced with.

Her last project of the term was called, "Smile."

The class was asked to go out and smile at three people and

document their reactions.

I am a very friendly person and always smile at everyone

and say hello

anyway. So, I thought this would be a piece of cake,

literally.

Soon after we were assigned the project, my husband,

youngest son, and I

went out to McDonald's one crisp March morning.

It was just our way of sharing special playtime with our son.

We were standing in line, waiting to be served, when all of

a sudden everyone around us began to back away, and then

even my husband did.

I did not move an inch... an overwhelming feeling of panic

welled up inside of me as I turned to see why they had moved.

As I turned around I smelled a horrible "dirty body" smell,

and there standing behind me were two poor  homeless men.

As I looked down at the short gentleman, close to me, he

was "smiling".

His beautiful sky blue eyes were full of God's Light as he

searched for acceptance.

He said, "Good day" as he counted the few coins he had been

clutching.

The second man fumbled with his hands as he stood behind

his friend. I realized the second man was mentally challenged

and the blue-eyed gentleman was his salvation.

I held my tears as I stood there with them.

The young lady at the counter asked him what they wanted.

He said, "Coffee is all Miss" because that was all they

could afford.

(If they wanted to sit in the restaurant and warm up, they had

to buy something. He just wanted to be warm).

Then I really felt it - the compulsion was so great I

almost reached out and embraced the little man with the blue

eyes.

That is when I noticed all eyes in the restaurant were set

on me, judging my every action.

I smiled and asked the young lady behind the counter to

give me two more breakfast meals on a separate tray.

I then walked around t he corner to the table that the men

had chosen as a

resting spot. I put the tray on the table and laid my hand  on

the blue-eyed gentleman's cold hand.

He looked up at me, with tears in his eyes, and said,

"Thank you."

I leaned over, began to pat his hand and said, "I did not

do this for you.

God is here working through me to give you hope."

I started to cry as I walked away to join my husband and son.

When I sat down my husband smiled at me and said, "That is why

God gave you to me, Honey, to give me hope."

We held hands for a moment and at that time, we knew that

only because of the Grace that we had been given were we able

to give.

We are not church goers, but we are believers.

That day showed me the pure Light of God's sweet love.

I returned to college, on the last evening of class, with

this story in hand.

I turned in "my project" and the instructor read it.

Then she looked up at me and said, "Can I share this?"

I slowly nodded as she got the attention of the class.

She began to read and that is when I knew that we as human

beings and being

part of God share this need to heal people and to be healed.

In my own way I had touched the people at McDonald's, my

husband, son, instructor, and every soul that shared the

classroom on the last night I spent as a college student.

I graduated with one of the biggest lessons I would ever

learn:       UNCONDITIONAL ACCEPTANCE.

Much love and compassion is sent to each and every person

who may read this and learn how to

LOVE PEOPLE AND USE THINGS - NOT LOVE THINGS AND USE

PEOPLE.

There is an Angel sent to watch over you.

An Angel wrote:

Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only

true friends will leave footprints in your heart.

To handle yourself, use your head.

To handle others, use your heart.

God Gives every bird it's food, but He does not throw it into

its nest.
